Trial and Conviction
Susan Atkins(also known as Sadie Mae Glutz), Leslie Van Houten, Patricia Krenwinkel, Charles Manson, and Charles "Tex" Manson were tried to the Tate-LaBianca murders. Charles "Tex" Manson, however, was tried separately. All of which have showed their remorse at some point after the murders except Manson. Manson was sentenced to death, but was then given life in prison as the death penalty was declared unconstitutional in California. He has been denied parole 12 times(most recently earlier this year). He now resides in the California Sate Penitentiary.
"Mr. and Mrs. America--you are wrong. I am not the King of the Jews nor am I a hippie cult leader. I am what you have made me and the mad dog devil killer fiend leper is a reflection of your society. . .Whatever the outcome of this madness that you call a fair trial or Christian justice, you can know this: In my mind's eye my thoughts light fires in your cities."--Charles Manson's statement after his conviction for the Tate-LaBianca murders.
